putin signs a decree banning Ukraine from using the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait
Meanwhile, Ukraine has denounced all cooperation agreements with russia in the Sea of Azov

russian dictator vladimir putin has ratified the denunciation of the agreement with Ukraine on cooperation in the use of the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait, effectively prohibiting their use and declaring the shores his own.
The corresponding document is published on the official legal information internet portal.
The explanatory note asserts that the shores of these water bodies now belong solely to russia following the annexation of occupied Ukrainian regions, reports The Insider.
Meanwhile, the Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine's parliament) had denounced all agreements on cooperation with russia in the Sea of Azov back on the anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, February 24, 2023, as reported by MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak.
The agreement defined the order of joint russian-Ukrainian activity in the field of navigation, fishing, marine environment protection, ecological safety, and search and rescue in the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait.
The explanatory note to the russian bill justifies rf actions by the seizure of Ukrainian territories, which, according to russian authorities, were "annexed":
"As a result of the acceptance into the russian federation of the DPR, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts, Ukraine lost the status of a coastal state in relation to the Azov-Kerch water area, the Sea of Azov has become an inland sea of the russian federation. In connection with this, the Agreement has lost its relevance and it is proposed to denounce it."
The agreement was signed by putin and Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma in Kerch on December 24, 2003. The document highlighted the importance of the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait for the economic development of the two countries, as well as the need to preserve the Azov-Kerch water area as a cohesive economic and natural complex.
