Finland will not finance those African countries that supported putin and russian aggression
Almost half of African countries did not support the UN resolution condemning the russian invasion

Finland's new government intends to refuse to help African countries that support russia in its war against Ukraine.
Source. This was stated by the future Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio, according to the Yle TV and radio company.
"Some African countries have expressed their support for russia. We will keep an eye on them," he said, adding that the government plans to cut financial aid to developing countries by about 1 billion euros.
The new Cabinet will start working on June 20.
Finland, through international organizations, annually allocates several billion euros to help developing countries.
At the same time, Finland has already stopped allocating funds for the development of some African and Central American countries. For example, in 2019, it withdrew direct funding from Zambia due to the detected abuses. In 2012, aid to Nicaragua was suspended as a result of the dictatorship that was established there, and in 2007, support for Egypt and Namibia ended.
After russia's invasion of Ukraine, almost half of African countries did not support the UN resolution condemning the invasion: 25 abstained or were absent, and Eritrea sided with moscow.
Recently, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Algerian President Abdelmajid Tebboune called putin "a friend of all mankind." He was the only world leader who agreed to sit next to the russian dictator at the event.
