Self-contained solar power stations to be installed in Kyiv
Surplus energy will ensure uninterrupted power supply to the capital's hospitals

Self-contained solar power stations are set to be installed in Kyiv.
This was announced by the city's mayor, Vitali Klitschko.
The project is planned to be implemented jointly with the German Agency for International Cooperation, which will provide the financing for the project. Its total cost is estimated at €500,000.
The surplus energy will be used to ensure uninterrupted power supply to three medical institutions: one of the city's clinical hospitals, a maternity home and a perinatal centre.
"The past heating season showed how systematic russian attacks on critical infrastructure objects, on which energy supply depends, particularly the medical facilities of Kiev, can be. Where equipment shutdown could lead to fatal or severe consequences," Klitschko commented.
The mayor added that the equipment would also partially replace the amount of consumed energy from renewable sources, accumulate electricity and reduce the volume of carbon dioxide emissions.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that the Ukrainian power system had added 1,000 MW of capacity. It is noted that three days earlier, one of the power units of a nuclear power plant had come out of repair.
