Kyivstar increased its investment in the telecom network by 35% in Q2

The national telecom operator Kyivstar increased its revenue in hryvnias by 16.8% to 8.609 billion UAH.

This was reported by the company's press service.

For the reporting period, Kyivstar's EBITDA profit in hryvnia increased by 11.6% compared to the same period last year – to 5.085 billion UAH. Meanwhile, the figure in dollars decreased by 10.7% to $139 million, and the profitability according to EBITDA decreased by 2.9 percentage ppoints– to 59%.

It is noted that Kyivstar increased capital expenditure by 35.1% compared to Q2 2022 for expanding the coverage area of 4G communication and rebuilding the network in de-occupied settlements.

Over the next three years, Kyivstar plans to invest an additional $600 million in the development of Ukraine's telecom sector.

In the second quarter of 2023, the company connected an additional 80 settlements to 4G communication, and installed 270 new base stations. Currently, 4G communication from Kyivstar is available to 94.3% of the population in Ukraine-controlled territory.

Over 93% of the Kyivstar telecom network is operating in regular mode. The company spent UAH 1.395 billion to ensure stable network operation.

Subscribers of the telecom operator increased their use of mobile internet services. The volume of megabytes per subscriber in Q2 increased by 25.6%. The number of subscribers using 4G services increased by 13.5%.

The total number of subscribers in Q2 decreased by 2.6% due to the impact of war factors such as population migration outside the country and the temporary occupation of a number of settlements.
