Biden promised Zelenskiy ATACMS missiles, but a small number - NBC News
These missiles, launched using the HIMARS and M270 platforms, can fly up to 300 km

U.S. President Joe Biden has told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that the United States will provide Kyiv with a "small number" of long-range ATACMS missiles.
Source. NBC News reports this with reference to three American officials familiar with the discussions.
However, the channel's interlocutors did not specify when the missiles would be delivered to Ukraine, in what quantity, or when a public statement would be made about their transfer.
The ATACMS tactical missile system will give the Ukrainian Armed Forces the ability to hit targets up to 300 kilometers away, striking supply lines, railroads and command centers, NBC News notes.
Following yesterday's meeting between Biden and Zelenskyy in Washington, no official statements were made about the transfer of ATACMS missiles.
Earlier, ABC News sources also reported that the White House is likely to provide Ukraine with long-range missiles in the near future.
Depending on the modification, these missiles, which are launched using the HIMARS and M270 platforms, can fly up to 300 km.
Ukraine has repeatedly asked the United States to supply these long-range missiles. The Americans, however, reportedly feared that this would lead to an escalation of the conflict, and also cited the fact that stocks of these missiles in warehouses are relatively small.
However, according to ABC News sources, it later turned out that the ATACMS stockpile was larger than initial estimates had indicated.
Background. Meanwhile, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that President Joe Biden had decided not to transfer long-range ATACMS ballistic missiles to Ukraine, but would not rule out deliveries in the future.
