Iran threatens to open a new war front if Israel continues its war against Hamas in Gaza
If this happens, the United States will suffer huge losses in addition to Israel, the country's foreign minister says

Iran threatens to "expand the fronts of war" if the war in Gaza does not end.
Source. This was stated by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian in an interview with Al Jazeera, BBC reports.
"Iran cannot stand aside and watch the situation develop," he said. "If America does not abandon this policy, the expansion of the war will be inevitable. If this happens, the United States will suffer huge losses in addition to Israel."
According to Abdollahian, the likelihood of opening a new front is growing with each passing hour – obviously, he is referring to the increasingly frequent attacks on Israeli targets by the Iranian-backed Hezbollah group.
"During my meetings with Qatari officials and resistance leaders, I realized that the issue of captured Israelis and soldiers is where the resistance draws the line," the minister said. Under favorable circumstances, the resistance will put the issue of their release on the agenda."
Abdollahian is on a visit to Qatar, where he met with high-ranking Qatari officials and the head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Hamas movement, Ismail Haniyeh, Iranian state media reported.
The official IRNA news agency also reports that Iran is negotiating with regional countries to send "basic necessities" to Gaza, as well as to open a field hospital in Egypt near the border with Gaza.
Background. As a reminder, Hamas militants are holding 199 people hostage. Among them are many women, children and the elderly, said Israeli Defense Forces spokesman Daniel Hagari.
