SBU suspects brother of famous athlete Serhiy Bubka of cooperation with Russia
The Mont Blanc company owned by the Bubkas operates in the temporarily occupied territories, in particular in Donetsk, and sells fuel there

The Security Service of Ukraine has served a notice of suspicion to Vasyl, the brother of former athlete Serhiy Bubka, of collaboration and assistance to the "DNR" terrorist organization.
Source. This was reported on the website of the Prosecutor General's Office.
In early July, journalists of Bihus.Info reported that the Russian company Montblanc, owned by Serhiy Bubka and his brother Vasyl, operates in the temporarily occupied territories, in particular in Donetsk, and sells fuel there. The journalists found three contracts for the supply of fuel to the occupiers' structures, published on the procurement portal of the Russian Federation.
The journalists found out that in May 2023, the company signed official contracts with Russian representatives for the supply of fuel for more than 800 thousand rubles.
After the occupation, the company changed its legal address to Volnovakha (not occupied at the time) and continued to participate in Ukrainian tenders. The last time it appeared in public bidding was in 2018. In early 2023, Mont Blanc appeared in the Russian register of legal entities.
In the terrorist databases, Bihus.Info writes, the company's registration address is again listed as Donetsk, and only Serhiy Bubka and his brother are listed as the company's owners. Vasyl Bubka is also listed as a director of the company.
The SBU reportedly opened a criminal case after the report was published. At the time, Serhiy Bubka himself did not comment on the documents.
However, even after the exposure, the Russian companies where Bubka is listed as a co-founder continued to cooperate with the occupiers. Journalists found two more recent contracts confirming this cooperation. Despite the published documents, opened criminal proceedings and public outcry, Serhiy Bubka is still a member of the National Olympic Committee.
He is a 35-time world record holder in pole vaulting, an Olympic and world champion.
From 2005 to 2022, he headed the National Olympic Committee and was also a member of the pro-Russian Party of Regions, whose leader was Viktor Yanukovych.
