German concern Rheinmetall has won a government tender to supply 100,000 mortar shells to Ukraine.
Source. This is stated in a message published on Wednesday on the Rheinmetall website.
The exact amount of the contract was not disclosed, but it is said to be "several hundred million euros" as part of Germany's next €400 million military aid package to Ukraine.
Deliveries of 120 mm caliber shells are expected to begin in the near future and will last for two years.
