Figure AI startup has raised $675 million with a preliminary valuation of $2 billion.

The company is developing Figure 01, a humanoid robot that will be able to perform dangerous work instead of humans and "solve the problem of labour shortages".
Jeff Bezos invested $100 million in Figure AI through his own investment company Explore Investments, Microsoft invested $95 million, Nvidia and an Amazon-affiliated fund invested $50 million each.
Intel ($25 million), LG ($8.5 million), Samsung ($5 million), Parkway Venture Capital ($100 million), and Align Ventures ($90 million) participated in the round.
In January, Bloomberg reported that OpenAI, which invested $5 million, and Microsoft were the first investors in the round. Their support helped to attract other investors and increase the amount of funding, the publication writes.
In May 2023, Figure AI raised $70 million with a valuation of $400 million, Reuters reported. The money was planned to be invested in the development and production of the company's first autonomous device.
