Moscow expects to sow "turmoil" in Ukraine in early summer and then inflict a military defeat on the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the agency says
A representative of the Ukrainian Military Intelligence (GUR), Andriy Yusov, has described how the Russian authorities plan to conduct an information campaign in Ukraine codenamed "Maidan-3".
According to him, it is planned to disseminate information through anonymous sources. The disinformation campaign will culminate in "manipulation, hysteria and escalation of the situation" regarding mobilisation and other decisions of the Ukrainian authorities.
"Betrayal, shame and many other words that we all know well and that will be used in different contexts: these are attempts to disrupt the mobilisation campaign, attempts to delegitimise the decisions of the Ukrainian authorities and, in general, attempts to undermine the situation inside the country, undermine our international coalition and use the same Russian narratives, but not always directly. This can happen in different ways," he explained.
According to Yusov, the campaign is the responsibility of the first deputy head of the Russian presidential administration, Sergei Kiriyenko, and former Putin aide Vladislav Surkov, as well as "all the collaborators-traitors" who fled to Russia.
Earlier, the head of the GRU, Kirill Budanov, said that Moscow expects to sow "confusion" in Ukraine in early summer, and then inflict a military defeat on the Ukrainian armed forces in the east of the country, taking advantage of the confusion in the army and society. At the same time, "the army should be of two minds: who is in charge of us, and whose orders we are following, etc.".
