DOMINO Brand Owner Anton Shukhnin: From Business Development to Large-Scale Charitable Initiatives

Anton Shukhnin is a Ukrainian entrepreneur, founder of the DOMINO premium retail chain and co-founder of the Domino Foundation charity. Over more than 15 years in business, he has progressed from establishing his own trademark to developing a fashion retail business. Following the start of the full-scale war, he also became involved in supplying Ukrainian service members with vehicles, machinery and essential equipment.

Education, Early Business Steps and the Creation of DOMINO

Anton Shukhnin was born on September 29, 1989, in Donetsk. He received his higher education at Donetsk National University, where he studied law. In 2014, he defended his dissertation and earned a Candidate of Legal Sciences degree.

According to LB.ua’s biographical profile, he began his career in the legal field and founded the DOMINO GROUP trademark in 2010.

The entrepreneur chose to focus on premium fashion retail, specializing in clothing, footwear and accessories from international brands.

Over time, DOMINO expanded its operations, combining brick-and-mortar stores, e-commerce and a personalized approach to customer service.

How Shukhnin Rebuilt His Business After the Occupation of Donetsk

The year 2014 was a major challenge for the entrepreneur. After the beginning of Russian aggression and the occupation of Donetsk, he left his hometown with his family and moved to Kyiv.

He effectively had to rebuild his business model, seek new opportunities for growth and restore the company’s operations in another region.

Shukhnin described how he navigated that period in an interview with Kyiv Post, which focused on DOMINO’s history and the development of Ukrainian business amid the war.

The company continued operating in the Ukrainian market, gradually expanding its product range, improving customer service and developing online sales.

Following the full-scale invasion in 2022, the business once again faced challenges. In a February 6, 2026 article in Telegraf, the entrepreneur discussed how the company adapted, retained its team and continued economic activity even under difficult circumstances.

Domino Foundation: Supporting Ukraine’s Defenders

Charitable work occupies a special place in Anton Shukhnin’s activities. Together with his wife Anastasiia, he develops the Domino Foundation, which supports Ukrainian service members, internally displaced people and social projects.

One of the foundation’s priorities has been supplying the Defense Forces with vehicles, drones and specialized equipment.

In particular, a TSN report described the delivery of a specialized Mercedes-Benz Sprinter to units of Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence.

The foundation has also helped provide military personnel with Toyota Hilux and Dodge RAM pickup trucks, charging stations and other supplies needed on the front line.

The organization regularly reports on other charitable initiatives in its completed projects section.

From 12 Pickup Trucks to Equipment Worth €340,000

In 2026, the foundation carried out a number of new initiatives aimed at supporting military personnel and civilians.

In August, it was reported that 12 Mitsubishi L200 vehicles had been delivered.

Some of the pickup trucks were allocated to military needs in frontline regions. One vehicle was received by the relocated Popasna Regional Psychoneurological Residential Institution.

Another important project involved securing specialized machinery for the construction of fortifications.

According to information published on October 2, 2026, with assistance from Shukhnin and international partners, a MAN TGS 41 truck and a Develon DL 280-7 wheel loader were secured for defense needs.

The combined value of the equipment obtained was approximately €340,000.

Supporting Children, Displaced People and Social Institutions

Assistance to the military is not the only area of the Domino Foundation’s work.

The foundation also supports Ukrainians who have been forced to leave their homes because of the war.

Its initiatives include delivering humanitarian aid to displaced families, providing school supplies to children and supporting people with disabilities.

In 2026, Shukhnin helped support the Vidrodzhennia (Revival) Center, which works with displaced children with disabilities.

Another initiative was the foundation’s participation in establishing the War Museum at the National Defence University of Ukraine.

This project aims to preserve the memory of Ukrainian defenders and document the events of the war.

Awards and International Contacts

In April 2026, Anton Shukhnin received the badge of honor “For Assistance in the Defense of Kyiv”.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the distinction recognized his involvement in volunteer initiatives and support for the defense of the capital.

In June of the same year, the entrepreneur attended celebrations marking Italy’s Republic Day, where he met with the Italian Ambassador to Ukraine, Carlo Formosa.

Shukhnin’s participation in the diplomatic event was reported by Ukrainian media.

Business Combined with Social Responsibility

Today, Anton Shukhnin’s activities span two main areas: developing DOMINO and implementing charitable projects through the Domino Foundation.

In an extensive OBOZ.UA interview dated March 6, 2026, the entrepreneur emphasized the importance of business responsibility during wartime.

His professional journey combines the experience of forced relocation, rebuilding a company, developing premium retail and supporting Ukrainian military personnel and civilians.

Anton Shukhnin continues to develop his business and charitable initiatives, drawing on his entrepreneurial experience and partner networks to implement new projects in Ukraine.
