Priests of the UOC-MP gather signatures for Patriarch Kirill to be tried at Church Tribunal
They call for an appraisal of the 'Russian world' doctrine in terms of Orthodox teaching

What happened. Priests of the UOC-MP (Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate) have begun collecting signatures on an appeal to the Council of Primates of the Ancient Eastern Churches against Patriarch Kirill. As of 1 a.m. April 11, 191 priests of the UOC-MP have signed the petition.
Source. Statement from Archpriest of the UOC-MP Andriy Pinchuk.
Details. "Today, when Patriarch Kirill of Moscow candidly supports Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church priests have decided to appeal to the Council of Primates of the Ancient Eastern Churches with a lawsuit against Patriarch Kirill," Pinchuk wrote.
"The actions of Patriarch Kirill sparked wide-scale outrage among the clergy and believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church," the statement of the priests points out.
The priests urge to "carry over the 'Russian world' doctrine for pan-Orthodox consideration" as Patriarch Kirill has been preaching it for many years. And now, it has become one of the ideological justifications for the Russian war against Ukraine. So, it is simply necessary to scrutinize the Teaching from the Orthodox understanding. And if this doctrine is condemned, bring Patriarch Kirill to justice and deprive him of the right to occupy the patriarchal see."
