The deficit of the general fund of the state budget in May increased to UAH 113 billion
In April it was estimated only in UAH 89.7 billion
What happened? The state budget of Ukraine for the first five months of 2022 was made up with a deficit of UAH 263.2 billion, in particular the general fund was made up with a deficit of UAH 270.8 billion however the predicted deficit for this period was estimated at UAH 526 billion.

Details. The agency clarified that in May the deficit of the general fund of the state budget increased to UAH 113.4 billion from UAH 89.7 billion in April and UAH 80.6 billion in March, while in February and January there were recorded surpluses of UAH 1.1 billion and UAH 12 billion.
According to the operative data of the State Treasury Service, in May 2022 the general fund of the state budget received UAH 101.3 billion, compared to UAH 76.2 billion in April and UAH 103.4 billion in March.
According to the release, among the payments collected by the tax and customs authorities, the main incomes were received from: income tax – UAH 19.6 billion (in April – UAH 5.7 billion), domestic and import VAT – UAH 18,3 billion and UAH 8.8 billion (in April – UAH 15.6 billion and UAH 7.9 billion), rent for subsoil use – UAH 11.7 billion (in April – UAH 6.5 billion), personal income tax and war tax – UAH 11,1 billion (in April – UAH 9.7 billion), excise tax – UAH 7.9 billion.
Incomes from the single social contribution in May accounted for UAH 33.5 billion against UAH 29.7 billion in April and UAH 27.8 billion in March.
According to the operative information of the State Treasury for January-May 2022, the cash expenditures of the state budget accounted for UAH 783.6 billion, including the general fund – UAH 740 billion.
At the same time, in May 2022 the budget expenditures of the state budget accounted for UAH 224.9 billion, in particular the general fund – for UAH 216.4 billion, said the Ministry of Finance, while in April the cash expenditures of the general fund of the state budget decreased to UAH 166.9 billion from UAH 184.4 billion in March.
The agency said that the actual state borrowings to the general fund of the state budget for January-May 2022 were estimated at UAH 376.6 billion, or 170.5% of those planned for this period, and payments to repay public debt reached UAH 169.3 billion.
