Biden announces an important visit related to the situation in Ukraine
A visit to Saudi Arabia will determine how the country's energy resources will mitigate the consequences of the war

What happened? US President Joe Biden announced a visit to Saudi Arabia, which he connected, in particular, with the situation in Ukraine.
Source. This was stated in Biden's article „Why I'm Going to Saudi Arabia”, which was published in The Washington Post.
Quote. „Next week, I’ll travel to the Middle East to start a new and more promising chapter of America’s engagement there. This trip comes at a vital time for the region, and it will advance important American interests,” the US president wrote.
According to Biden, the United States needs a “secure and integrated” Middle East. Saudi Arabia's waterways are essential to global trade and supply chains.
“Its energy resources are vital for mitigating the impact on global supplies of Russia’s war in Ukraine. And a region that’s coming together through diplomacy and cooperation – rather than coming apart through conflict – is less likely to give rise to violent extremism that threatens our homeland or new wars that could place new burdens on U.S. military forces and their families,” Biden wrote.
According to the US president, it is very important for him to avoid such a scenario, so he will intensively pursue diplomacy and hold personal meetings. Biden also noted that Saudi Arabia is now a stable and safe place, recalling the rocket attack in Baghdad that occurred a month before his inauguration.
