What happened? The cost of a demining campaign in Ukraine may cost $10 billion. This conclusion was made, after taking into account the cost of demining Croatia, which amounted to approximately 1.25 euros per 1 sq. km according to Food and Agriculture Organisation data.

Details. It is noted that the cost of destroying one anti-personnel mine is EUR 0.56. Therefore, financing programmes for demining the territory is one of the most expensive directions of international support. According to estimates of the Ukrainian Association of Sappers, about 83,000 sq. km are currently contaminated by various types of landmines.
