Ukrainian air defence shoots down up to 70% of russian missiles – Major General
One hundred percent efficiency cannot be achieved due to the lack of intelligence, aviation and anti-aircraft missile systems

What happened? Today, from 50% to 70% of enemy missiles are shot down by means of air defence, both by aviation and by anti-aircraft missile units.
Source. Major General Mykola Zhyrnov, the head of the Kyiv State Military Administration, in an interview with Armyinform.
Details. “Unfortunately, today we cannot ensure 100% effectiveness of air defence operation, this is due to objective reasons – insufficient number of reconnaissance means, aviation and anti-aircraft missile systems. Basically, these are Soviet systems, which do not have the same efficiency and reliability as the air defence systems of NATO partner countries,” he said.
Answering a question about the situation in the capital, Zhyrnov noted that “the more or less calm situation is the painstaking work of the military, law enforcement officers, workers of the city's critical infrastructure... The fact that we have no terrorist attacks and the enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups are not operating is the merit of those people who prevent these actions.”
Zhirnov recalled that at the beginning of the large-scale aggression in Kyiv, there had been plenty of sabotage groups, but thanks to the efforts of the defence forces, the SRGs had been eliminated in time. As a result of the preventive actions of law enforcement officers, 408 members of the SRGs have been detained on the territory of Kyiv since the beginning of the russian aggression.
At the same time, he noted that everyone needs to be vigilant, since some of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups still remain, they are inactive, however.
