Circulation of cash in banks decreased by 14% for the current year
The volume of revenues during this period amounted to more than 1.5 trillion UAH

What happened? The amount of cash inflows to bank cash registers amounted to 1,572.4 billion UAH for 9 months of 2022 and decreased by 14% compared to the same period last year.

Details. Cash withdrawals from bank cash registers in the period from January to September this year amounted to 1.6 trillion UAH, which is 13% less compared to the corresponding period in 2021.
“At the same time, in the 9 months of the year 2022, there were no significant changes in the structure of cash inflows and outflows from cash registers of banks and cash-in-transit companies,” the National Bank notes.
The most popular cash withdrawal operations are the following (% of the total volume of expenses):
- customer transactions with the use of payment cards – 82.4%;
- for reinforcement of postal operators – 5.3%;
- for the purchase of customers' foreign currency – 4.1%.
Instead, the largest sources of cash inflows to bank cash registers are customer transactions with the use of payment cards (36.5%), trade revenue (31.9%) and revenue from all types of services (15.4%).
