The spokesman for Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki wrote about the urgent convocation of the National Security Committee without giving a reason.
UPDATED: A Radio Zet correspondent unofficially reported that two missiles fell in the village of Przewodów near the Ukrainian border and hit grain dryers.
Police, prosecutors, and the army are working on the spot.
The Polish Air Force took off fighter jets from the airfield in Tomaszów Lubelski.
UPDATED. Deputy Prime Minister of Latvia Artis Pabriks reacted to the fall of russian missiles in the Polish voivodeship.
“My condolences to our Polish brothers in arms. Criminal russian regime fired missiles which targeted not only Ukrainian civilians but also landed on NATO territory in Poland. Latvia fully stands with Polish friends and condemns this crime,” he tweeted.
Polish authorities have not yet commented on their versions of the incident. Mr. Morawiecki's press service urged to refrain from publishing unverified information.
However, a senior U.S. intelligence official confirmed to the AP that russian missiles crossed the border of Poland, which is a NATO member.
