The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is preparing a project with Ukrzaliznytsia
The assistance will be directed to the restoration of railway tracks

What happened? The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is preparing a new project with Ukrzaliznytsia JSC.

Details. The joint project should be approved at the beginning of the new year. It will be aimed at restoring railway tracks and purchasing a train which will connect Ukraine and the European Union.
The Bank's representative Matteo Patrone emphasised that supporting vital infrastructure was one of the priorities of the EBRD in Ukraine today and noted the active work with municipalities.
In particular, he announced plans to sign an agreement with Lviv. The bank is also finalising the agreement with Dnipro and working together with Kyiv on a large liquidity package.
“It is too early to talk about it, but we are considering the possibility of supporting frontline cities both in the East and in the South of Ukraine,” Mr. Patrone added.
