Source. Project edition, based on its own calculations.
Details. Before the invasion of Ukraine, the Black Sea Fleet had 275 ships and vessels, of which only 58 were combat ships.
Taking into account patrol boats, there were 74 combat pieces in the fleet.
Project has studied public data on ship losses and concluded that at least 12 Black Sea Fleet ships and boats have been sunk or severely damaged since the beginning of the war.
The russian Defence Ministry has not reported on the total losses of the fleet during the war with Ukraine.
As it is known, on April 13, the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet – Moscow cruiser, which took part in the war with Ukraine, sank.
The military command of Ukraine and the Pentagon reported that the ship was hit by Ukrainian missiles. The russian side denies this, calling the cruiser's destruction a result of a fire that led to the detonation of ammunition.
