SBU exposed large-scale corruption in "Sea Ports Administration"
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has exposed officials of the state-owned enterprise Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority on embezzlement of over UAH 90 million. The former head of the institution and two of his subordinates were involved in organizing the fraud.
Source. This was reported by the SBU press service.
Details. The head of a branch of a state institution in 2017-2018 and two of his subordinates were involved in organizing illegal activities.
According to the investigation, in May 2017, officials entered into an agreement with a commercial organization to carry out dredging works in the waters of the Pivdennyi seaport.
At the same time, the cost of the works was artificially overestimated, the SBU reports.
State money was transferred to the contractor's accounts, but the actual amount of work did not correspond to the documents.
Thus, more than UAH 90 million was transferred from the state-owned enterprise into the shadow, investigators calculated.
The three organizers of the fraud were notified of being suspected of committing a crime.
Background. As a reminder, the SBU exposed a scheme to embezzle $3 million from the budget allocated for feeding the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
