Ukrainian soldiers defeat elite russian marines near Vuhledar – British intelligence
A satellite image shows destroyed enemy vehicles belonging to the 155th Naval Infantry Brigade
Russian marines in Donetsk Oblast near Vuhledar suffered serious losses. The russian command replenished the losses with inexperienced mobilised soldiers.

British intelligence has released a satellite image taken in the Vuhledar area. The image shows destroyed russian equipment, which probably belonged to the 155th Naval Infantry Brigade .
This brigade is considered to be an elite force in the russian army. However, unlike the airborne infantry, the 155th Brigade has not deployed as a single large formation in Ukraine.
"There is a realistic possibility that the 155th Brigade will again be committed to new assaults near Vuhledar," the report says.
Background. As a reminder, a colonel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces recently reported that two elite brigades of russian troops were eliminated near Vuhledar. Oleksiy Dmytrashkovsky claimed that this was the third defeat of the 155th Brigade during the war in Ukraine.
"For the first time after Irpin and Bucha, the second time they were defeated near Donetsk – they recovered again. And now almost the entire brigade has been destroyed near Vuhledar," he said.
