Fox News has cut out a comment by former US President Donald Trump in which he said he would allow Russia to occupy parts of Ukraine as part of a peace deal between the countries.

In an interview with Fox News, Trump explained how he would try to conclude a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine amid the Russian invasion.
Trump, who is seeking re-election in 2024, said he could quickly end the war.
In an interview, he boasted that Russia would not dare to launch an attack during his presidency, adding: "I could have negotiated. In the worst case, I could negotiate for Putin to seize something, there are certain areas (in Ukraine) that are Russian-speaking, to be honest, but we could negotiate."
Later that day, when the interview was aired, these comments about ceding parts of Ukraine to Russia were cut out.
Last year, Trump praised Putin for his "smart" approach to invading Ukraine and declaring its regions "independent" as a prelude to illegal annexation.
Trump has long been criticized for his refusal to condemn Russian aggression and for his comments about Putin.
As you know, in 2019, Trump was impeached over allegations that he had threatened to suspend military aid to Ukraine if it did not dig up dirt on his political rival Joe Biden.
For two years, special counsel Robert Mueller has been investigating Trump amid allegations that he colluded with Russia to win the 2016 election. Mueller has not found sufficient evidence to substantiate this claim.
Trump has also repeatedly threatened to withdraw from NATO.
