Crozetto accused Wagner PMC of creating migration crisis in retaliation for helping Ukraine
According to the Italian publication Il Foglio, citing an intelligence report, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev ordered the Wagner PMC to assassinate Italian Defense Minister Guido Crozetto and agreed to pay $15 million for it.

On March 15, Guido Crozetto accused the Wagner PMC of transporting migrants from Africa, especially from Libya, to Italy in retaliation for supporting Ukraine. Crozetto called it a hybrid war waged by Russian mercenaries and accused Russia of wanting to harm some countries, especially Italy, and trying to influence their geostrategic decisions.
"This message moved the entire Italian society. However, Medvedev's name is rarely mentioned in publications, they mostly talk about the Wagner PMC, which put a bounty on the head of the (Italian) defense minister," Marianna Soronevych, editor-in-chief of the Ukrainian newspaper in Italy, told Radio NV.
"This is a big political scandal that puts a big stain on Russia's reputation. Considering that Italy is a pro-Russian country, such accusations will make many Italians reconsider their attitude towards Russia," she said.
