Zelensky: Ukraine cannot yet launch counter-offensive due to lack of ammunition
At the same time, russian troops spend three times more ammunition than the Ukrainian army
Ukraine needs additional military support from its partners, without which it cannot launch a counter-offensive and liberate the temporarily occupied territories.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with the Japanese newspaper The Yomiuri Shimbun.
"We cannot start yet. Without tanks, artillery and HIMARS rocket launchers, we cannot send our brave soldiers to the front lines," the president said.
He called the military situation in eastern Ukraine "not a satisfying one" due to a lack of ammunition. At the same time, according to President Zelensky, russian troops spend about three times as much ammunition as the Ukrainian army every day.
"We are waiting for ammunition to arrive from our partner countries... If there is political will, they can find ways to help us. We are in a state of war and cannot wait," the President stressed.
