External and internal pressure on Ukraine will increase rapidly if russians capture Bakhmut – Zelensky
Defence of the city will continue as long as necessary to fulfil military defence tasks

External and internal pressure on Ukraine will increase rapidly if russians completely capture Bakhmut.
This was stated by Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with AP.
The President emphasised that a loss anywhere at this stage of the war could jeopardise the "momentum" Ukraine had already achieved. In his opinion, Ukrainians will feel tired.
At the same time, Deputy Minister of Defence Hanna Maliar explained that the defence of Bakhmut was driven by operational and tactical expediency. The city will be defended as long as it is necessary in terms of military defence tasks.
Background. Earlier, it was reported that, according to ISW, the occupiers had advanced by another 5% of Bakhmut over the week and now control 65% of the city. In addition, yesterday, the russians continued their offensive along the Avdiyivka-Donetsk frontline.
