Kuleba: "Russia's presidency of the UN Security Council from April 1 is a bad joke"
Sergey Lavrov plans to preside over the UN Security Council meeting in New York in April

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that the world cannot be a safe place with Russia in the UN Security Council, and that the beginning of its presidency in this body on April 1 is a bad joke.
"Russia's presidency of the UN Security Council on April 1 is a bad joke. Russia has usurped its seat; it is waging a colonial war; its leader is a war criminal wanted by the ICC for kidnapping children. The world cannot be a safe place with Russia in the UN Security Council," Kuleba wrote on Twitter.
As reported, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov plans to preside over the UN Security Council meeting in New York in April as part of the rotation.
Another key event of the Russian presidency will be a high-level open debate in the Security Council on "Effective Multilateralism through Upholding the Principles of the UN Charter." This meeting will be chaired by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov," his spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told reporters.
Background. As reported, Ukraine is demanding to convene the UN Security Council because of Russia's intention to deploy nuclear weapons in Belarus.
For its part, Russia is initiating a UN Security Council meeting on Ukrainian children taken to Russia.
