President Volodymyr Zelensky called on Belgium and the Netherlands to expedite the supply of military vehicles and aviation to Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on Belgium and the Netherlands to accelerate the supply of military vehicles and aviation to Ukraine.

He made this statement during a press conference with the Prime Ministers of Belgium and the Netherlands in The Hague.

"We are eager to receive what has been promised to our country as soon as possible. I call on Belgium and the Netherlands to contribute to the speedy delivery, in particular by signing an agreement to accelerate the supply of new weapons. We have talked to the leaders of the Nordic countries and other countries. They are absolutely ready to create such a coalition for the transfer of armoured vehicles. In addition, we really need modern military aircraft," said Zelensky.

According to him, there is no rational justification for denying Ukraine in this matter. "We must strengthen the wings of Ukraine to accelerate peace," emphasised the head of the state. The President also discussed Ukraine's future within NATO and the EU with the Prime Ministers of Belgium and the Netherlands. Zelensky emphasised that Ukraine has a legal obligation to become a part of this Alliance. The President added that Ukraine was implementing necessary reforms for EU accession while fighting a war.

Background. Previously, Zelensky spoke at the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
