Suspects face 5 to 8 years in prison

An investigation has been launched into the unauthorised online distribution of information about the operation of air defence systems and the effects of air target hits.
This is reported by the press service of the Kyiv prosecutor's office.
According to the case files, during the night of 16 May 2023, amid a massive missile attack by russia on the territory of Kyiv, residents of various districts of the capital filmed and photographed the operation of Ukraine's air defence. The images and videos they captured were then posted on social media, and subsequently appeared on russian internet resources.
"Law enforcement officers quickly identified six individuals who posted photos and videos of the air attack on Kyiv and air defence operations on social media. Urgent investigative actions were carried out at the residences of the individuals involved. During these investigative actions, law enforcement officers seized the technical means used for distributing the prohibited content," the statement reads.
The pretrial investigation in the criminal proceedings continues. The sanction of the article provides for 5 to 8 years of imprisonment.
The prosecutor's office urged citizens to responsibly adhere to the prohibitions on filming and publicising videos of the operation of Ukraine's air defence and the effects of air target hits, as the enemy may monitor such posts and adjust their strikes.
It is emphasised that criminal liability is provided for adjusting enemy fire.
Background. On 16 May, the occupiers launched a combined attack using drones, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles. Air defence forces shot down 6 aeroballistic, 9 cruise, 3 ballistic missiles, and 6 strike drones.
