The Armed Forces of Ukraine have liberated and maintained control over nearly 20 square kilometres in the Bakhmut sector.
This was reported by Hanna Maliar, Deputy Minister of Defence.
The representative of the defence department stressed that the defenders of Ukraine continued to make progress in certain areas of the Bakhmut sector. However, within Bakhmut itself, the enemy is "somewhat advancing".
"Everything that can be done militarily in this situation – our command and soldiers are doing. They are doing it professionally and to the best of their abilities," Malyar commented.
