The Armed Forces of Ukraine are nearing the tactical encirclement of Bakhmut.
This was announced by the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Oleksandr Syrskyi.
The commander emphasised that the defenders continued to advance along the flanks in the suburbs of Bakhmut. Additionally, Ukrainian forces control a certain part of the city.
"We are effectively nearing the tactical encirclement of the city. Thanks to this, we will be able to control all high-rise buildings occupied by the enemy and gradually destroy them. This deprives the enemy of control over the approaches to the city and gives us certain tactical advantages," Syrskyi explained.
Background. Zelensky denied Bakhmut had been lost by Ukrainian forces. His answer regarding the control over the city in Donetsk Oblast was wrongly interpreted in the media.
