Poland will close the border for trucks from Russia and Belarus on June 1

Poland has announced new sanctions against 365 Belarusians, including more than 150 MPs, and suspended border traffic for trucks registered in Belarus and Russia.
"These people were promoting the Belarusian regime, as well as legitimizing and supporting the repressive policies of the authorities in Minsk," the Polish Interior Ministry said, as cited by the BBC.
The ministry clarified that all persons under sanctions will be banned from entering Poland and the EU's Schengen free movement area, and their assets will be frozen.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, this step was a response to the upholding of the verdict in the case of Andrzej Poczobut.
Poczobut, a Polish-Belarusian journalist, was sentenced to eight years in prison for criticizing the regime of self-proclaimed ruler Alexander Lukashenko.
Last week, a Belarusian court rejected his appeal and upheld the sentence.
The agency also announced that starting June 1, it will suspend the operation of the only operating road border crossing in Kukuryki for trucks registered in Belarus and Russia "indefinitely."
