putin tries to downplay the significance of drone attack on moscow – ISW
The kremlin is wary of revealing its limited capabilities to retaliate against Ukraine

russian dictator vladimir putin is trying to downplay the significance of yesterday's drone attack on moscow in order to not reveal russia's limited capabilities for retaliation against Ukraine, which the kremlin blames for the incident.
This is reported on the ISW website.
putin hinted that the drone strike on moscow was Kyiv's response to russian strikes on Ukraine, and on 30 May, the russian Ministry of Defence stated that russian forces had carried out “a group of strikes with long-range high-precision air-launched weapons at main decision-making centers” in Ukraine.
The russian Ministry of Defence accused Ukraine of attacking moscow with 8 drones on the morning of 30 May, stating that they shot down 5 drones, and suppressed another 3 with electronic warfare systems.
Following the attack, putin said that Ukraine is trying to provoke a response and force russia to "mirror" its actions.
As reported in the report by ISW, the kremlin leader is trying to downplay the significance of the drone attack on moscow to "avoid exposing the limited options he has to retaliate against Ukraine".
