Ukraine will assist Moldova in rebuilding a railway section.
This is reported by the Ministry of Reintegration.
The chairman of the board of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia, Yevhen Liashenko, board member of JSC Roman Chernitsky, and the CEO of Moldovan Railways, Oleg Tofilat, have signed a memorandum of cooperation.
The partnership foresees the restoration of the Valchinets–Căinari railway corridor with a length of 400 km, which is also connected to the city of Reni in Odessa Oblast. The project is planned to be implemented at the expense of partners by the end of 2024.
"Reconstruction of this section is an important step for enhancing railway logistics in the Danube direction. Thanks to the railway corridor, exporters will get a convenient transport corridor, connected, in particular, to the Reni port," explained department head Oleksandr Kubrakov.
