The aid was allocated within the framework of the World Bank project PEACE in Ukraine. Thus, in 2023 Ukraine has already received 6 billion dollars in grant funds for direct budget support from the US.
The raised funds will be directed towards reimbursement of state budget expenditures: for the payment of state social benefits to families with children, remuneration for education sector workers, payment for medical service providers under the medical guarantee programme, etc.
Background. Mind previously reported that the EU was providing Ukraine with the fourth tranche of 1.5 billion euros. Payments from the bloc within the IMF programme this year have already reached 7.5 billion euros.
