Energy Minister Herman Haluschenko has stated that the price of electricity for the population will not increase any further until the end of the year.
He spoke about this during the national TV marathon Unified News.
According to the Minister, the increase in electricity tariffs for household consumers to 2.64 UAH/kWh was a necessary step, but this decision will allow Ukrainians to be supplied with electric power throughout the heating season.
The Minister also reported that there were no talks about the next stages of tariff increases.
Background. The government was forced to raise electricity tariffs for the population in order to restore the energy system and prepare for the upcoming winter. With the increase in the tariff, the average amount on the electricity bill for one family will increase by an estimated 250 UAH per month.
