The gambling industry paid over 800 million UAH in taxes in May – Pyshnyi
Over the first 5 months of 2023, the budget received four times more than over the entire 2022

The gambling business paid over 800 million UAH in taxes to the state budget in May, compared to 30 million UAH a year earlier.
This was stated in an interview by Andriy Pyshnyi, Head of the NBU.
"Over the first five months of 2023, the budget received four times more than over the entire previous year," he stated.
The head of the regulator reminded that the assessment of the stability of the country's banking system is ongoing. The first stage, which began in May, involves assessing the quality of assets and covered 20 of the largest banks, accounting for 90% of all assets of the banking system. The second stage will include extrapolation of results to the rest of the loan portfolio, and the third – assessing the sustainability of business models and determining the need for capitalisation.
Pyshny also reported whether bank supervision will become more effective. According to him, the process of its reform has already begun. "In the National Bank, so-called supervisory panels / colleges will start working, which will combine the expertise of several departments," he noted.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that the company COSMOLOT had allocated 255 million UAH to the budget based on the results of the first quarter of 2023.
