Russians are preparing a provocation at ZNPP to accuse the Armed Forces of Ukraine - General Staff
Explosives placed on the roof of two power units to simulate Ukrainian shelling

On Tuesday, July 4, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine warned of a possible Russian provocation at the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. It is reported that objects similar to explosives were spotted on the roofs of two power plant units.
"The Armed Forces of Ukraine officially inform about the possible preparation of a provocation at the Zaporizhzhia NPP, occupied by Russian terrorists since March 4, 2022, in the near future," the General Staff said in a communique.
On Tuesday, explosive-like objects were placed on the roof of two power units at the plant. Their explosion was not aimed at damaging the units, but allegedly to illustrate the shelling from Ukraine, which was falsely reported by the Russian media, the command said.
The armed forces assured that they do not violate international law, are monitoring and controlling the situation and are ready to act under any circumstances.
"Not a single provocation by the enemy will pass," the statement said.
Background. As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Russians could provoke a dangerous incident at the Zaporizhzhia NPP to freeze the fighting. According to Zelenskyy, one of the scenarios the enemy is considering is a remote detonation of the power plant when it is in Ukrainian hands.
