The Verkhovna Rada has passed a law on strengthening children's property rights
The Parliament, in particular, expanded the list of legal transactions concerning a child's property, consent for which requires approval from the guardian authority

The Verkhovna Rada has passed a law on the protection of property rights and other proprietary rights to real estate belonging to children and wards in general. 260 MPs voted in favour.
This was reported by MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak.
According to the law, the list of legal transactions and actions concerning property rights and real estate of a child or ward is expanded. For actions such as disposal of property or execution of other legally significant actions, obtaining consent from parents (adoptive parents) or guardians in accordance with the requirements of the guardianship and custody authority is mandatory.
In particular, the list of property for which permission from the guardianship and custody authorities is required to carry out division, exchange, alienation is expanded. This list now includes any real estate, including objects of incomplete construction, and is not limited to housing only.
In addition, the law stipulates that consent for important legal transactions carried out by a minor must be obtained from parents or individuals who replace them, as well as from the guardianship and custody authority.
From now on, the state registrar must check the presence of consent from the guardianship and custody authorities for transactions related to real estate that concern the state registration of rights to this property. This registration includes acquisition, change or termination of proprietary rights to real estate, including objects of incomplete construction, which belong to minors or individuals who are incapacitated by court decision or are limited in capacity.
