The United States announces a new military aid package for Ukraine worth another $1.3 billion
The new package will include four NASAMS air defense systems, drones, and more.

The U.S. Department of Defense has announced a new military assistance package for Ukraine totaling $1.3 billion.
According to the Pentagon, the package includes critical air defense equipment and ammunition and will be provided under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI).
"This USAI package underscores the United States' continued commitment to meeting Ukraine's immediate needs by providing critical capabilities in the near term, as well as building the sustainable capacity of Ukraine's armed forces to defend its territory and deter Russian aggression in the medium and long term," the statement said.
The new package will include, in particular:
- four NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems and ammunition
- 152-mm artillery shells
- equipment for demining
- unmanned aerial vehicles
- means of counteracting enemy UAVs and detecting electronic warfare
- equipment for port security
- secure communication systems.
