As of April 2023, Ukraine has invested $138 million in the Romanian economy – ambassador

To date, 1,751 Ukrainian companies are registered in Romania. As of April 30, 2023, Ukraine has invested $138 million in the Romanian economy. This represents 0.71% of the total volume of foreign investment in Romania.
This was mentioned in an interview with Mind by the Romanian Ambassador to Ukraine, Alexandru-Victor Micula.
He pointed out that the most attractive sectors for Ukrainians in Romania were IT and logistics. Ukrainians have established several logistics centres in Romania.
"They are also opening stores for products manufactured in Ukraine. And of course, the service sector – these are services for the hotel, tourism industry, as well as for the automotive industry," said the ambassador.
Micula stated that investors were predominantly small and medium enterprises. He mentioned that there was no talk of "big Ukrainian players" in their market yet.
Background. Prior to the full-scale invasion, the annual amount of Romanian investment in the Ukrainian economy was about $30 million.
