Ukrenergo has restored 56 transformer substations, with 7 more currently undergoing repairs.
This was announced during the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities by Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, Head of the National Power Company Ukrenergo, Ukrinform reports.
According to him, this will allow each region not only to cover the power consumption network but also to achieve the "gold standard", where consumers will not notice any disconnections in the overhead power transmission lines network.
"We are not going to stop there. After all, we understand that there will be attacks. Accordingly, another 20 units of transformer equipment must be installed by the end of the year as a reserve of durability," added Kudrytskyi.
At the same time, he noted that among the main risks in the power system remained the threat of attacks and insufficient power generation.
"We will need all the power units that are in the system. Even those old power plants that were not used in the past periods, we will need them to operate this winter," Kudrytskyi is convinced.
He pointed out that since the beginning of the war, 250 missiles and drones had hit and caused damage to many substations.
"We expect that the substations, both ours and those at power plants, will be attacked by drones, and machine rooms, where power generation takes place, will most likely be attacked by missiles," Kudrytskyi noted.
According to him, protection from drones at substations is already being set up, and the protection of machine rooms requires technical solutions.
Additionally, the Head of the National Power Company Ukrenergo noted that debts in the electricity market complicated the necessary repairs.
