Defence Forces advanced almost 650m deep into enemy lines on the Melitopol front – Klymenko

Units of one of the National Guard brigades advanced almost 650 metres deep into the enemy's defence on the Melitopol axis.

This was reported by Ihor Klymenko, Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

He noted that the defenders had advanced one and a half kilometres along the front and secured the occupied line of this same front. It was clarified that the guardsmen had been advancing as part of the strike groups of the Defence Forces.

In addition to this, in the Maryinka and Berdiansk sectors, the Armed Forces are holding the defence lines. At the same time, in the Kupyansk direction, the defenders are securely holding the occupied lines, and Special Operations Forces units are conducting air reconnaissance.

Klymenko added that in the border areas of Sumy Oblast, the National Guard was carrying out measures aimed at the timely detection of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group intentions. According to him, on the Kherson front, the National Guard is conducting humanitarian demining, stabilisation actions, and other tasks.
