The United States officially approves the transfer of the first batch of Abrams tanks to Ukraine
They include: ammunition, spare parts, as well as fuel and repair equipment

Source. This was announced on Monday during a press conference by the Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology, Douglas Bush, CNN reports.
"They are ready. Now they have to get to Europe, and then to Ukraine, along with all of the things that go with them. Ammunition, spare parts, fuel equipment, repair facilities. So you know, it's not just the tanks, it's the full package," said Bush.
He did not specify how many tanks would be in this first shipment.
The United States announced its intention to transfer 31 Abrams tanks to Ukraine in January 2023. So far, the tanks have been refurbished and prepared for transportation, and meanwhile, since May, Ukrainian tankers and technicians have been training on the same tanks in Germany.
In March, the U.S. military decided to speed up the process by giving the Ukrainians tanks of the older M1-A1 model rather than the newest modifications. According to the Americans, Ukraine would receive the newer tanks no earlier than the end of the year.
Earlier, Politico, citing anonymous sources, said that the first batch of Abrams is expected to be shipped to Ukraine in September.
They are expected to arrive in Germany in August, where they will undergo final repairs and then be ready for shipment to Ukraine.
Background. Earlier it was reported that the first American Abrams tanks would arrive in Ukraine in September. Before Ukrainian troops can start using them, they must complete a 10-week training course.
