Azerbaijan will provide Ukraine with a vehicle for demining
Baku also intends to train Ukrainian deminers involved in demining

Azerbaijan has decided to expand its assistance to Kyiv and intends to provide it with a machine for mechanical demining of the liberated territories. Baku also intends to train Ukrainian deminers involved in demining.
Source. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on its website.
The new aid package was announced during a meeting between Deputy Interior Minister Bohdan Drapyatyi and Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kyiv Seymur Mardaliyev.
According to Drapyatyi, it is about assistance in humanitarian demining, i.e., work in the already liberated territories, not during hostilities.
According to the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, "as a result of Russia's military aggression, approximately 174 thousand square kilometers are potentially contaminated with mines and other explosive devices."
"Among other things, about 14,000 square kilometers of rivers, reservoirs and water reservoirs of Ukraine, coastal areas of the Azov and Black Seas, hydraulic structures and seaports need to be cleared of mines and other explosive devices," Drapyaty said.
The Interior Ministry website also says that Mardaliyev announced an increase in Azerbaijan's aid package to Ukraine.
"We would like to express our admiration for your resilience and courage in countering Russian aggression. That is why we have decided to increase the size of the assistance package to Ukraine, including in the issue of humanitarian demining," the Ukrainian government quoted the ambassador as saying.
Azerbaijan has extensive experience in de-mining, as its authorities have to deal with it in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, which came under Baku's control after the 2020 war. In May, it became known that 55 people had exploded on mines in Azerbaijan since the end of the war.
Background. As a reminder, Bulgaria intends to join the construction of a submarine cable to export electricity from Azerbaijan to Europe.
