The kremlin is planning to mobilise several hundred thousand people for war in Ukraine. russia aims to restore the combat capability and offensive potential of its army.
This was revealed by Vadym Skybytskyi, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, in an interview with Obozrevatel.
He noted that the leadership of the aggressor state's army declared an intention to create a whole range of new military units: airborne regiments, divisions, and mechanised brigades. Skibitskyi mentioned that russia had already adopted several laws and regulations strengthening punishments for not reporting to the military registration and enlistment office and for evading mobilisation. Additionally, russia has raised the conscription age, and draft notices are now sent in electronic format.
"Mass mobilisation is an unpopular decision, but the putin regime has no other choice. They've been preparing for this for a long time," he emphasised.
