Ukraine requires 128 F-16 fighters for air superiority – Air Force
Yuriy Ihnat emphasises the need for the planes to be dispersed across multiple airbases, allowing them to respond to varied threats and target different objectives

Ukraine is in need of 128 F-16 fighters to upgrade its ageing air fleet and establish air dominance over its adversaries.
This was reported by the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Air Force Command, Yuriy Ihnat, during an interview with Radio Liberty.
"Clearly, the dynamics of war can necessitate adjustments, but we genuinely need more than 100 aircraft dispersed across various airbases. This enables us to react to a range of threats and to engage diverse targets, including enemy aircraft, ground forces, and even deep into enemy territory," Ihnat pointed out.
He further clarified that 42 fighters for Ukraine would approximately make up four aviation brigades. Nonetheless, the Air Force's objective is a fleet of 128 aircraft.
Background. Mind earlier reported that the proposal to supply F-16 fighters to Ukraine had not receive the Dutch parliament's approval.
