Danilov responds to director Lars von Trier's statement "Russian lives also matter"
The choice between executioner and victim becomes a tragedy when an artist chooses the side of the executioner, NSDC Secretary emphasizes

Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, commented on the address of the famous Danish director Lars von Trier to the leaders of three countries (Ukraine, Russia and Denmark).
The day before, von Trier wrote on his social media: "By the way: to Mr. Zelensky and Mr. Putin, and not least to Ms. Frederiksen (who yesterday, like a woman in love, posed in the cockpit of one of the most terrible killing machines of our time, smiling with a big smile): "Russian lives matter too!" Best wishes, Lars".
He did not elaborate further, but his message was published after Denmark and the Netherlands pledged to provide Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets to help Kyiv strengthen its air defense and counteroffensive against Russian troops.
The Western allies are supplying weapons to Ukraine on the condition that they will be used only to liberate the occupied regions and not for attacks on Russian territory.
On Sunday, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy inspected one of Denmark's F-16 fighter jets together and posed for a photo in the cockpit.
National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksiy Danilov called the director's statement "hypocritical humanism."
"A simple piece of advice to a famous director: imagine that a Russian missile flies into his city every day, that his father or mother was killed, his grandson was taken to Russia, and before that, a Russian looter raped his wife and burned down his house. In this case, the abstraction of hypocritical "humanism" takes on completely different features – real, not fictional life," the NSDC Secretary said.
"War is not a movie where actors play life and death. Behind every living Russian terrorist is a dead Ukrainian. The choice between the executioner and the victim becomes a tragedy when the artist chooses the side of the executioner," emphasized Oleksiy Danilov.
Background. As a reminder, the NSDC Secretary confirmed the SBU's involvement in both attacks on the Crimean bridge.
