Zelenskyy says Ukraine has made a missile that can shoot 700 km

Ukraine has created a long-range weapon that has already successfully hit a target at a distance of 700 kilometers. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The information about the Ukrainian long-range missile was confirmed by the head of the National Security and Defense Council.

Zelensky noted that he was informed about the successful use of Ukrainian weapons by the Ministry of Strategic Industries. A target at a distance of 700 kilometers was hit, the Ukrainian president said at his daily conference call on Thursday.

However, he did not provide details of the operation.

"The Ministry of Strategic Industries [of Ukraine] reported on its own production. Successful use of our long-range weapons: the target was hit 700 km away!" – the report said.

In turn, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, posted a short video online showing the launch of the missile.

Under the video, he wrote that this is an illustration of the implementation of the president's missile program. As he noted, the missile tests were successful and the use of the missile was effective.

In June, the Ukrainian government reported on the implementation of a program to create Ukrainian long-range missiles.

Until now, Ukrainians have been producing Neptune missiles with a range of 300 km, which were used to eliminate the cruiser Moskva of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

About 700 km from the Ukrainian border is Pskov, where explosions occurred on Tuesday night at a jointly operated airfield. The governor of the Pskov region reported a drone attack. The Russian Defense Ministry did not comment on the attack on the Pskov airport.

The media reported that four Il-76 military aircraft were damaged in the attack. The Russian Emergencies Ministry confirmed the damage to the aircraft, without specifying their number.
