The Russian army's latest attacks on the ports of Odesa region were carried out by drones from a new batch that was recently delivered from Iran. This was stated by Natalia Gumenyuk, press attaché of the Ukrainian forces on the southwestern front, on Monday on the Espresso TV channel.
"We saw that before the attacks on Odesa region, there was an intensification of cargo transportation in the Tehran-Moscow direction, which may indicate the arrival of an additional batch of "Shahedin," Gumenyuk said.
"We saw on the wreckage of the downed drones that this is indeed another batch, which is marked," continued Humeniuk.
She also noted that the Russians are trying to save missiles, which are much more difficult and expensive to replenish than the stock of kamikaze drones.
On the night of September 4, the Russian army launched another attack with "Shaheds" on ports in the south of Odesa region.
The head of the regional military administration, Oleh Kiper, wrote after the raid that 17 Shaheds were shot down, but some of them broke through, resulting in damage to "warehouse and industrial buildings, agricultural machinery and equipment of industrial enterprises" in the Izmail district, according to Kiper.
